SEPTEMBER MIX: 09

this was a fun one… i found an old mix tape that i made when i was 15 years old (cassette, maxell XL II-S 100 bitch!). pretty much used the same track list, with a couple of late add-ons. not to sound like a geezer, but there was “something” really special about early 90s hip hop, that is just lacking now-a-days. in particular, o.c.’s track still resonates with me, go read the lyrics, its pure brilliance. dj premier’s beats… pete rock, tribe… come on.
while working on the tracklist, i was creeping a friends website, and stumbled upon an illustration of big daddy kane getting a fade… it was meant to be! i would really like to thank mike rinaldi for letting me use the illustration, check him out… he’s amazing; mike-rinaldi.com
